Creating Meaningful Application State: Animating with Vue.js

When creating applications for the web, we use animation and state changes to communicate with our users. In this workshop we’ll take an in-depth look at how we can use Vue.js as a tool to help us make this communication with users more meaningful and effective. We’ll explore some of the unique attributes Vue has and how we can use these attributes to easily create animations in an efficient and state-dependent way.

We’ll be going over Vue basics and adding animations and transitions on top of a pre-built application while exploring topics including, but not limited to: common UX patterns, performance, the difference between transitions and animations, using Vue transition and lifecycle hooks, working with SVG in Vue, creating page transitions with Vue router, as well as important considerations for accessibility.

Attendees will walk away with the knowledge and power to make their Vue applications more user-friendly with animation!
